Can an employer post your job before you resign?

Many employers subscribe to the employment-at-will doctrine, which means that the company can terminate a working relationship at any time for any reason or for no reason, with or without notice. Essentially, your employer may interview people for your job, then fire you the day before your replacement begins working.

What is a Job Posting? Also known as job ads, job postings are the primary means through which companies recruit new applicants for available positions. Traditionally, job postings were often posted in the classifieds section of newspapers. Today, job ads are typically published online.

What is the difference between a job and a position between a task and a job?

Job: A description of requirements to perform a role, which might include competencies, responsibilities, education, etc. You’ll only need one for each role in your organization. Position: A container for an employee. A job can have multiple positions, but each position can only be associated to one job.

The job posting is very specific and targeted for my county specifically. There are no other positions within 40miles, so I know it is for my position since there is only 1 position and I hold it currently. I found out of the posting from other employees that I work with about 2weeks ago.
