First, they want to make sure you’ve done your research and know what their job involves. And second, they want to see if you’ve thought about your own career and know what you’re looking for. They want someone who’s thought about their career goals and wants a specific type of job (or at least a few different types).

How do you say you are suitable for a role?

  1. Highlight specific traits in your personality or relevant skills that make you the best candidate for the role.
  2. Highlight your accomplishments that are relevant to the job.
  3. Match your skills to the job requirements/description.
  4. Know what you bring to the position and how it helps the company.
  5. Confidence is key.

How do you answer why do you want to apply for this role?

‘This opportunity is really exciting for me as I will be able to…’ ‘I see the role as a way of developing my career in a forward-thinking/well-established company/industry as…’ ‘I feel I will succeed in the role because I have experience in/softs skills that demonstrate/ I’ve taken this course…’

What made you interested in this position?

Example: “I’m interested in this job because I can see that, in this role, my skills could help solve this problem within your company. I also see an opportunity for me to learn and grow these skills, so we both would benefit personally, professionally, and financially.

How to explain why you are applying for a job?

After you show them you’re targeting specific things in your job search, talk about what caught your interest. You could mention details you saw on the job description, on the company website, etc. Show them you understand what their role involves and are excited to be doing the work!

These examples should demonstrate your accomplishments and success in the context of the role you’re applying for. Mention the opportunities the role offers to further develop special knowledge or skills. Example: This role really interests me because I’d be responsible for X, Y and Z.

That’s because your job responsibilities are something you already know top to bottom. You can’t get this question wrong. Right? Well… As I’m sure you know, there are right answers, and there are AWESOME answers.

The application process for a job is reasonable, given how much progress the role and understanding what it means to put in an effort to get a job opportunity for a job. Hint: This is probably a good sign, when you find a company that doesn’t jump at the job candidate through unnecessary hurdles in the complicated application process.
