What is the difference between strategic and tactical development?

Strategic development refers to the way athletes play, where they should be at a particular time and what to do. Tactical development is about applying different ways of gaining an advantage over an opponent.

Breaking down a company’s wider strategic plan into more short-term, specific and deliverable tactics. Tactical Planning is the process of breaking down the strategic plan into distinctive, short term plans.

What should a tactical plan include?

A tactical plan is a written outline of the specific actions you’re going to take to address a problem or achieve a goal. It could list the tasks that you’ll do yourself, and the tasks you’ll assign to employees.

How do you write a short strategic plan?

To summarize:

  1. Vision – where you want to get to.
  2. Values – how you’ll behave on the journey.
  3. Focus Areas – what you’ll be focusing on to help your progress.
  4. Objectives – what you want to achieve.
  5. Projects – how you’ll achieve them.
  6. KPIs – how you’ll measure success.

What’s the difference between strategic planning and tactical planning?

Strategic planning is about the main stream of tasks to achieve an objective or a mission. Tactical planning is the micro plan that comes within each component. It is not the detailing of a strategic plan. But certain twists or political power play or technical jugglery or legal ties that helps to achieve a strategic milestone.
