What does it mean when your unemployment says in progress?

Have you filed for unemployment and received a notice that says, “adjudication in progress?” You’re not alone, and it could hold up your claim. Adjudication means there’s a discrepancy with your unemployment application, and a specially trained adjudicator needs to look at the claim to clear up the problem.

How do I know if my unemployment claim was approved in Iowa?

Once Unemployment Claim Application is Reviewed:

  1. You will also receive a letter if your claim is approved or denied and you will receive an email if the claim is approved.
  2. If your claim is approved, you will begin to receive payment in 5-7 days.
