The right length for interview answers is 30 seconds to 2 minutes for basic questions, and up to 3 or 3.5 minutes for behavioral questions. The answers to simple factual questions should be the shortest. For instance, the answer to “Where did you get your Master’s?” can be less than 30 seconds.
How long does a company take to respond after an interview?
The average response time after an interview is 24 business days, but it varies between industries. Some types of companies, such as electronics and manufacturing, may make an offer to the successful candidate in less than 16 days after an interview.
How do you follow up after a week interview?
Here are a few pointers:
- Address the person you are emailing by their first name.
- Mention the job title of the role you’re following up about and the date you interviewed to refresh their memory.
- Confirm that you’re still interested in the position and that you are eager to hear about next steps.
- Finally, ask for an update.
When to expect a response after an interview?
Make sure to end each interview by asking when you can expect to hear back from them. It’ll save you some stress and you’ll know whether it’s time to follow up or not. Sometimes it’s normal to wait 1-2 weeks for a response after your interview.

When to expect a callback after an interview?
