Do I need a practising certificate? In other words, any member working in public practice, other than an employee or subcontractor (either of whom must be appropriately supervised), must hold an ACCA practising certificate. An ACCA student is not permitted to engage in public practice.
Can ACCA members certify documents?
If you have met the individual party face to face, you are eligible to certify their documents. How do I get my ACCA practising certificate?
To apply for an ACCA practising certificate you must show that you have achieved:
- three years of supervised experience with an ACCA approved employer – practising certificate development (general or audit) stream – or an employer that would be eligible to register.
- two years of post-membership experience.
What is ACCA practicing certificate?
An ACCA Practising Certificate (PC) shows that you have the relevant experience and knowledge to perform the duties of a Chartered Accountant. Last year, the ACCA used feedback from members to update the Practising Certificate process.
Is Icaew harder than ACCA?
ICAEW is harder than ACCA, but since both of them are the same, people will be encouraged to take ACCA instead of ICAEW. Both ACCA & ICAEW focus on the same thing ie auditing, tax, financial accounting. They have the same syllabus contents & same level of exam difficulty.
Can I put ACCA after my name?
Once you have completed your ACCA Qualification by passing your exams, along with three years’ practical experience and the Ethics and Professional Skills module, you will be invited to become an ACCA member. You will be able to use the ‘ACCA’ letters after your name.
Who is qualified to certify documents?
An accountant (member of a recognised professional accounting body or a Registered Tax Agent). A person listed on the roll of the Supreme Court of a State or Territory or the High Court of Australia as a legal practitioner. A barrister, solicitor or patent attorney.
Is ACCA a license?
Members who wish to provide general accountancy services to individuals or businesses must hold an ACCA practicing certificate. A practising certificate is a licence to practise and it allows members to offer a range of general accountancy services.
How long does it take to get ACCA certificate?
You could therefore complete all of the exams in two years. However, as you also need three years practical experience before you can become an ACCA member and be considered a qualified accountant, the qualification takes a minimum of three years to complete.

What do you have to do to get a practising certificate?
A member training towards the practising certificate must complete the PCEF part 1 and part 2. The provision of basic bookkeeping services directly to the public cannot count towards the practical training requirements for our practising certificates.
Can a DPB sign off a practising certificate?
Holding a practising certificate and audit qualification alone does not entitle you to sign off audit reports; the firm in which you practice must also hold an auditing certificate As a DPB under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 we can regulate firms to undertake a limited range of investment and credit-related regulated activities
