Struggling flooring retailer Carpetright has said it is in talks about takeover offer from its biggest creditor. Carpetright currently has debt levels of about £56m, but the company says it needs about £80m to both pay off debts and give it sufficient cash to grow the business.
Does Carpetright go bust?
Carpetright shares were last quoted at 5.04p each. Shares in the company are now suspended, and will be cancelled effective today. Carpetright’s net debt was set to increase to between £40 million and £50 million in December, with Carpetright stating it needed £80 million to fund its turnaround strategy.
